Galentines

By Stacey Laricchia

Monthly beauty tips provided by our resident expert, Stacey Laricchia, The Birthday Suit.

This month is weird for me. I see women genuinely sad for not having a companion on Valentines Day. My husband & I don’t celebrate this day because he loves me every day, and I love myself enough to not need the validation of all things heart shaped on one day of the year. So this year, buy your own chocolate, strawberries & champs and have a “Celebrate all things You!” night! And use all those goodies for some delicious skin care so you can look as fabulous as you should feel!

Grab your Gal Pals and have a Galantines day spa party. And, hey, if the champs ends up being consumed instead of being applied, that’s ok too.

Strawberries make a gorgeous facial scrub. They are loaded with Vitamin C.

Grab your strawberries and a bowl and follow this recipe for a perfect start to your "I love me" Spa.

  • 3 organic strawberries

  • 1 tablespoon of Coconut Oil (melted

  • down to liquid)

  • 1 tsp of Raw Honey

  • 2 tablespoons of Brown Sugar

  • 2-3 tablespoons of White Sugar (finely granulated)

Mush all your strawberries up in a bowl, add the coconut oil and honey until blended. Add the sugar & mix well. It should be the consistency of oatmeal. Rub a little on the back of your hand to make sure it does not feel too rough. Add another strawberry if you need more gentle, or a little more sugar if its not exfoliating enough. Apply to damp skin, avoiding your eye area. Gentle circles, then rinse thoroughly with a warm face cloth until completely removed. Pat dry and grab a look at your gorgeous glowing skin.

We have all heard dark chocolate is full of antioxidants and is good for us, right? Well it’s good for us inside and out. Chocolate kills bacteria without drying your skin. It is also amazing for keeping your skin soft & can improve your hydration levels. Chocolate for everyone!

Go out and splurge on some delicious chocolates for yourself, at least 70% cocoa.

  • Melt down the equivalent of 2 chocolate bars (in 10 second intervals if microwaving. You don’t want to burn the chocolate).

  • 1/2 cup of almond milk (or 2/3 cup of regular milk)

  • 1 tablespoon of sea salt

  • 2-3 tablespoons of brown sugar.

  • 1 bendy straw

Mix all your ingredients together with melted chocolate. Take a sip of champs while you wait for your mask to cool down. Apply a cool mask to clean dry skin for about 20 minutes (this is when a straw in the champs glass is necessary) then rinse off with a warm facecloth. You will see instant gratification on your glowing healthy skin.

Lastly, if you have any champagne left...

Did you know champagne makes for a delicious toner for your skin? Champagne is antibacterial, anti inflammatory & can even out skin tone.

  • In a small spray bottle mix 2 parts champagne, 1 part distilled water (or you can go straight champagne) and mist away. (pour slow and do not shake)

No spray bottle? No problem, champagne on a cotton ball and apply directly to your skin. It is still alcohol, so avoid your eye areas.

Follow with your favorite moisturizer and call it a party.

Remember Babes, you

are so beautiful & strong.

You define you.

Happy February!
